NYR Solo2 Points 1 (5/31/09)

First NYR event of the year, hooray!  Nice sunny weather, and a pretty fast course.  It was a good start to the season.

NNJR Road Course Day (5/13/09)

Last weekends day on the Englishtown Road Course was great!  While I didn't do so well, coming in at a mid-field 63rd of 135 cars and only 5th in class, I had a great time.  It was loads of fun, tons of great car lovers with nice cars showed up, and if you have a chance to run time trials or auto-x on this track I couldn't recommend it enough.

Evoschool was great, now it's off to the track (5/7/09)

Last weekend I went to the Evolution racing school (http://www.evoschool.com/).  It's a great way to get a lot of seat time at low cost and really hammer on fundamentals.  You can learn a lot in second gear, I definately felt the mental challenges.  Everything from overcoming impatience to learning to quell that subconcious desire to look in all the wrong places.  It was rainy which really added to the learning, especially for the FR cars.  At the end of the day I was exhausted, but couldn't hide my grin.

In a couple days I'm gonna hit the track in E-town for some timed laps and see if any of the evolution school stuff stuck. ^_^

SCCA Drift Event Series Proposal (4/19/09)

The NYR SCCA have offered me an opportunity to present a proposal for a sanctioned drift event series.  This would be similar to what is happening in Delta region with NODrFt.  They seem to have turned the expo event last year into a full season of drift.

---  Update

So... the meeting went pretty well, but not perfect.  While some of the attendents had a few missgivings about drift in general (thanks a lot Fast&Furious!) the reception was generally positive.  While, most of the concerns about SCCA rules can be overcome by simply copying SCCA Delta, the big problem is location.  It turns out that Nassau Col. might not be available, and the city is stonewalling most forms of motorsports completely for some amazingly lame reasons.

The next step of the project will be to approach SCCA NNJ, Riverhead and Englishtown to see if they would be interested in co-hosting an event.  More to come...

Welcome to Genkiracing 09 season.

This is the first stab at starting a proper website.

As you may have noticed, there is not a lot of info here.  If I have some free time I will backfill last season NYR autocross into the new site, but don't hold your breath.

Regardless, I will try to keep updated moving forward.
